Last Mile

The last mile – the concept defines the segment of the access network brought to the end user, taking into account the type of connection technology of this user.

Digital Poland

In the financial perspective for the years 2007-2013, significant sums were earmarked for the elimination of the so-called white spots, i.e. places without access to the Internet. Without co-financing, building an Internet infrastructure in these regions would be unprofitable.

In the new financial perspective for 2014-2020, a completely new source of financing for computerization will appear. It will be the Operational Program Digital Poland (PO PC). Therefore, more than EUR 2.5 billion has been provided for its implementation. Half of these funds (EUR 1 billion) is to be used to finance, inter alia, investments in internet access networks.

The basic assumptions of the program show that by 2020 each Pole should have access to the Internet at a speed of at least 30 Mb / s.

The intervention will be addressed to telecommunications undertakings and, in justified cases, to local government units and will consist in supporting projects in the scope of building, extending or rebuilding networks and telecommunications infrastructure providing broadband Internet access (downloading and sending data packets) with 30 Mb / s and more parameters. , as well as in justified cases, where the supply of broadband infrastructure providing a bandwidth of at least 30 Mb / s will not be created in the scope of basic access to broadband Internet.
